Qualcomm’s New Generation Wi-Fi 7 Module – O2072PM – Released

The Qualcomm FastConnect C7700 is Qualcomm’s latest generation Wi-Fi 7 system, with the chipset QCC2072. It is designed to deliver ultra-fast speeds (with peak speeds of up to 5.8 Gbps*), featuring 320 MHz channels, 4K QAM, and Multi-Link Operation (MLO) capabilities for high performance and low latency. Its Bluetooth supports BLE 6.0 and LE Audio.

The FastConnect C7700 also introduces advanced proximity features through Wi-Fi ranging and Bluetooth channel sounding, enabling users to unlock new, seamless ways of interacting with nearby supported devices.

Qogrisys has officially released the O2072PM Wi-Fi 7 module, a PCIe M.2 interface module based on the QCC2072 Wi-Fi 7 chip.

** The design of the O2072PM includes all the features of the QCC2072 **

Bluetooth backward compatibility

**O2072PM Hardware Standard**

The module adopts an M.2 Key E standard interface with a 2T2R dual-antenna design, enabling simultaneous operation of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with coexistence capability.
Bluetooth utilizes UART/PCM interfaces and supports PCM voice calls.
The module is powered by a 3.3V main supply, while other I/O interfaces operate at 1.8V.

**O2072PM Driver Compatibility**

O2072PM has been adapted on the Intel x86 platform for kernels 5.15.24+, 6.1.99, and 6.12.0, operating stably. Adaptation for the Arm platform requires further debugging and optimization. Customers should note whether the kernel version fully supports Wi-Fi 7 during selection, as otherwise the product's performance may not be fully utilized.

Adaptation Information for Other Platforms:The SOC version of this chip is expected to have completed adaptation on the Xiaomi 16. Additionally, an adapted V1 version for the OpenWrt platform is available. For specific details, search for the source code on GitHub.

PC Laptop Win11 Driver Information:Qualcomm has not yet released a supported driver.

** Other Hardware Module Versions of QCC2072**
Following the release of the O2072PM, a 13×15 package surface-mount version will be launched to meet diverse customer packaging requirements.

As homes become more connected with smart TVs, appliances, speakers, and other devices, the demand for high-performance connectivity in a broader range of devices is growing. With the higher speeds and lower latency brought by Wi-Fi 7, the productization of the O2072PM represents a significant milestone for both consumers and manufacturers. It enables a better product experience by making Wi-Fi 7 achievable in a wider variety of devices.
